There are no specific requirements for applicants wishing to attend a Younger 4 Longer Training course for personal interest only and who do not require a formal qualification or for applicants wishing to attend an RSPH course or the First Aid course. 

For applicants wishing to gain the Teaching Evidence Based Exercise and the Life Enrichment Facilitator Diplomas the following will normally be required:

bullet

applicants must be over the age of 18 years, there is no upper age limit

bullet

applicants must have a working understanding of spoken and written English

bullet

applicants must be working with or planning to work with older people

bullet

a satisfactory character reference and CRB check

bullet

as the course requires some physical exertion a reasonable degree of physical fitness is required, but applicants do not need to be 'super fit' or to have 'perfect bodies'.  Applicants will find that as the course progresses their physical fitness will improve - one of the many benefits of attending!

applicants must be prepared to take part in all practical workshops

bullet

applicants should have good interpersonal and communication skills

bullet

applicants must be prepared to engage in additional private study as required to ensure a good understanding of each topic

bullet

previous relevant experience and qualifications will be taken into consideration
